Happy Thursday, Columbus! It's Chelsea.

When you live downtown and in the nearby suburbs, it's easy to get caught up in the bubble of your neighborhood. I live in Merion Village. In 2017, I found myself sticking around my own area, rarely exploring further than a zip code or two away.

But this year, I decided that I want to see more of our city, county, and state. Ohio holds many hidden secrets. Just a short drive away, you'll find the wonderful city of Delaware. This city is quintessentially American, with adorable shops, delicious restaurants, and plenty of places to explore.

Thursday Weather 🌡Partly sunny, with a high of 13. Wind chills as low as -7 - it's going to be windy with gusts up to 28mph. ⛅️

Around Town 🏘Pins Mechanical Co. ran into trouble while throwing their New Year's Eve Bash. But Pins is taking responsibility for the mayhem, offering ticketholders full refunds.  [Facebook]The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is closing Nelsonville's prison by the end of March. 40% of Nelsonville residents live in poverty and the town receives hundreds of thousands of dollars from the prison using city utilities, so the impact could be devastating. The route, which travels along Cleveland Ave. is supposed to make commuting from the north end into downtown easier and more efficient. Some residents are singing its praises, while others felt it could have done more. [WOSU/Honig]
