Happy Friday! Chelsea here.

If you feel like going out for a very, very good time, I have a suggestion. SeeSaw had their grand opening last night, and let me tell you, friends, it is unreal. The new restaurant from renowned chef Jonathon Sawyer and Cleveland Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis has a carefree confidence that sets it apart from everything thing else happening in Columbus right now, and you shouldn't miss out. Plus, there's a literal seesaw you can ride. Happy Friday, indeed!

So much to do, so little time. This weekend is going to be crazy busy, so thank goodness it's a bye week for the Buckeyes. If you aren't going to HighBall, I highly (see what I did there) recommend that you avoid the area surrounding the Greater Columbus Convention Center. It's about to get crazy.

You may not think you want vegan nachos, but just trust me on this one. You definitely want vegan nachos, specifically from Woodhouse Vegan. They just opened up their first brick-and-mortar spot in Italian Village and it's well worth a visit.

Talking Points โค๏ธ

Crew Stadium Breaks Ground ๐Ÿ—

In what has recently become something of a complicated situation, the Columbus Crew

on the new Arena District Crew Stadium. The final land purchase from Nationwide Realty Investors was completed only hours before the event, and the Crew announced during the event that they would be spending $70 million more to the project, bringing the total cost to more than $300 million.

The project has been

that the city's portion of the price tag has ballooned to more than $100 million. The city originally promised to keep its portion of spending to $50 million. Mayor Andrew Ginther has

, saying "You gotta understand there's stadium infrastructure investments that we're making, and then there's district infrastructure investments that we're making".

Ugly Optics ๐Ÿ’ธ

With all of the above, I have to cosign the following piece by Scott Woods, at Columbus Alive. It's getting tiring to become excited about something new and great happening in the city, like this new stadium, only to later learn the project is tainted by (pick one, or more than one) a lack of transparency, way too generous tax abatements, blown budgets, or something else unseemly. This is a hard-hitting piece, well worth reading:

Trends In Outdoor Sports ๐Ÿ“

"A combination of badminton, tennis and pingpong" is the elevator pitch, and while that might sound odd, pickleball's growth has been viral. You will probably have pickleball courts near you very soon, if you don't already.

Dog with fallen leaves

This pup looks ready for fall. Warm temps today, but a cold front is coming in this weekend with lows in the 30s. We should see some real movement on the leaf front in the coming days. ๐Ÿ“ธ:
