Friends4Ever...

Four central Ohio residents - Lou Capretta of Dublin, Frank Guarasci of Upper Arlington, Jim Strapp of the North Side and Larry VanOrman of Reynoldsburg - have been friends for 60(!) years. They're all originally from Columbus, and they all went to OSU, but they met at their first jobs after college (in 1955-56!) and have stayed friends since. They now meet monthly for lunch, and the Dispatch profiles them during a lunch at Lindey's.

Saying the right things...

Mike DeWine held his first press conference as governor-elect. Key takeaways included DeWine laying out his commitment to bipartisan solutions, a willingness to work with both Republican and Democratic mayors, the creation of both a cabinet-level position to work on children's issues and a cabinet position to oversee our military installations (Wright-Pat, NASA Glenn). DeWine also revealed he will be living in the governor's mansion in Bexley during the week, a change from his predecessor.
