Contrary to popular belief, Cinco de Mayo is not Mexico's Independence Day (that's September 16). The fifth of May recognizes the defeat of the French army during the battle of Puebla in Mexico, all the way back in 1862. Just something to TACO bout (π) while you're enjoying a margarita tomorrow.
Also worth noting, The Kentucky Derby falls on Saturday as well, so you'll want to find an appropriate and festive hat to wear. If you're able to find a hat that can incorporate both occasions, more the better. And we'd love to see a pic of that! π

Longread We've been watching a lot of nature documentaries at my house lately. Specifically, any that are narrated by David Attenborough. The footage is unreal. Just thinking about how the filmmakers are able to capture such amazing images is mind-boggling. If you haven't seen the thrilling Snake Vs Iguana scene, boy, you're missing out! But some other purveyors of the genre haven't necessarily been able to get the amazing shots that the BBC was able to wrangle. I'm speaking of Marcio Cabral, a prize-winning photographer who went to extremes to get the perfect shot of an anteater in the wild.
