Hello, Friday! Chelsea here.
I know that for some of us, the days of the week have lost their meaning a little bit. But I, for one, am so glad it's the weekend. My husband and I are planning on using this time to tackle some projects around the house. This weekend we are finally getting around to a mini bedroom makeover that we've been putting off for months. This is one instance where I whole-heartedly believe that my procrastination has paid off. But before we get into all of the weekend chores (aka ways to pass the time until we can return to regular life), let's treat ourselves to a temporary distraction. I know you all love learning fun facts about Columbus, so I won't keep you waiting too much longer. Think of how popular you'll be in your quarantine group chats with this knowledge in your back pocket!

We're starting to get our first real look at how the steps Ohio has taken to flatten the curve are working out. The data is promising and we have absolutely made a difference, but that doesn't mean we should relent any time soon. The surge of patients that Dr. Acton talks about in the daily briefings is still coming. All we can do is prevent that surge from growing too large.

Please, if you do nothing else, take 30 seconds to watch this video of Sen. Sherrod Brown's pets freaking out over his return home from Washington D.C. It's utter and uncontained joy.

Post-Pandemic To-Do List 🍗
Yes, I know, it's probably too early to be thinking of what I'm going to do when it's safe to venture out, but I'm going to go ahead and start a list (it helps that I can say it's for work.) One thing I want to try is this fried chicken that's only made in two locations: Serbia and Barberton, Ohio. Barberton is a little bit of a drive (it's near Akron) but check out these photos and tell me it doesn't look worth it? It's supposedly good enough that it's made some call Ohio the "Fried Chicken Capital Of The World" and the story behind it is super interesting.

Weird Twitter 📚
I somehow had no idea The Book Loft's Twitter was so weirdly bizarre, but thanks to this Alive profile now I do and I'm better for it. There's some legitimately bizarre stuff happening over there that I think you'll enjoy reading about, but I personally had an out of body experience when I read about the possum.
