Columbus Navigator Logo

Happy Friday, people! It's Chelsea.

If you're lucky enough to have the day off tomorrow, congratulations! You just have to make it through a few more meetings, some awkward breakroom run-ins, and maybe one unforeseen technical issue before you're free for a couple of days. If you do have to work tomorrow, know we're all rooting for you.

We're going to kick off this weekend talking about one thing people seem to agree on: Parking in the Short North can be a bit of a nightmare.

But officials want to make it a little less stressful for everyone, that's why they are adding some new, affordable parking garage options and partnering with Lyft.

Friday Weather 🌡☀️☀️ High of 44F with sunny skies. Tonight will be clear, but chilly, with a low of 25F. ❄️

Longread When I picture myself at 71, I picture sitting on a front porch swing, baking (finally not burning) delicious cookies, and hanging out with what I'm sure will be an astronomical number of dogs. Never in my wildest dreams would I think that after 7 decades on this planet, I'd take a trans-Atlantic journey in a kayak. But that is just one of the many differences that Aleksander Doba and I have. Doba completed his third treck across the pond in 2017. He was alone at sea for 110 days and fought wave after wave. Why? Although he has won awards for his journeys, he doesn't do it for the praise. He does it because he needs to. The New York Times Magazine: Why He Kayaked Across The Atlantic At 70 (For The Third Time)
