Coronavirus in Columbus: Here's how you can help ❤️

Happy Friday the 13th - Chelsea here.

As we're all adjusting to our new normal here in Ohio, it's important to think of the ways we can help out our community. We're all in this together and there are so many ways to help. This city always has a way of coming together and supporting one another during emergencies and I know this won't be any different. PS: Sorry for getting "We're All In This Together" from High School Musical stuck in your head.

We're keeping you updated with the latest local coronavirus news, with the last updates made after 1 AM today. This will have a permanent spot in the newsletter for the next little while, and I really look forward to the day I can remove it.

As a kid, I watched an embarrassingly large amount of Nickelodeon, a sentiment I know for a fact is shared by most everyone under 35. Be honest, we all had that funny friend that "totally should have been on All That". But did you know that Nickelodeon actually got its start right here in Columbus?

Talking Points ❤️

Look For The Good ❤️

Cleveland Cavaliers power forward Kevin Love has donated $100,000 to arena staff who will be out of work with the suspension of NBA play. Love has openly discussed

, and his Instagram caption announcing the donation reflects that, saying

"It's important to know that those with a mental illness may be vulnerable to the effects of widespread panic and threat. Be kind to one another. Be understanding of their fears, regardless if you don't feel the same. Be safe and make informed decisions during this time. And I encourage everyone to take care of themselves and to reach out to others in need".

Helping To Understand ❤️

A common thing I am hearing for the last two days is deep sadness and frustration from people with older parents and grandparents who are continuing their lives as normal, despite being in the most vulnerable portion of our population. There seems to be some understandable resistance from some in being labeled old or vulnerable. I found this article to be useful, despite the somewhat clickbait-y title (it's Buzzfeed, so that's to be expected.) Hopefully, it's not an article you personally need, but even if you don't, you might find it useful to pass along to someone who does.

Little Floating Prisms ❤️

I promise that this weather phenomena photo taken in Dublin, Ohio will knock your socks off. Imagine seeing this in person?
