Happy Friday! Chelsea here.

It's been a while since we started the newsletter off with a COVID-19 mandate, but this one is important so we're gonna chat about it. Yesterday, Mayor Ginther announced that face masks would be mandatory in public in Columbus. Our city had the highest single-day increase in cases on Wednesday and we have a very short window of time to get this curve flattened back out without more drastic measures. It's time to mask up, increase our social distancing, and practice good hand hygiene, friends. There are so many things in this life that we don't have control over, but right now, we have the opportunity to help keep our entire community safe. Call me over-ambitious, but I believe in us! We can do this!

Navigator Feature Story:

Navigator Originals ✏️

This rock garden is so inspiring. The thought crossed my mind that I could have spent some of my quarantine time creating something incredible like this, but then I remembered that I'm not that handy and that beautiful projects like these are probably better left to the passionate. Luckily, I can just go see this stunning creation instead!

Talking Points ❤️

Courage 🎓

A significant event in Civil Rights history that isn't talked about nearly enough happened in southern Ohio in a little town just an hour south of Cincinnati. This is the remarkable story of a group of mothers who marched for 18 months(!) for integration in the 1950s, told so skillfully by writer Sarah Stankorb. The entire thing really oughta be a book or a movie (or both?)

Giga 🎢

Even if you're not interested in roller coasters as an experience, or theme parks in 2020, you should still watch this two-minute-long video of the new Orion roller coaster opening this year at King's Island. It's amazing that a video can make my stomach drop, but this manages. Orion has a 300-foot drop (300 is the threshold to be a "gigacoaster" - there are only seven in the world) and reaches speeds of 91 MPH.

Real Estate Right Now 🏡

Columbus Monthly just dropped a bunch of interesting articles on Columbus real estate. This is the

, but here are a few of what I found most interesting:

Weather:

95 and increasingly cloudy

Air Quality:

Moderate (Ozone)

Pollen:

 Low-Medium (Grass)

75 parks + 6 months left in the year. Think we can fit them all in?
