Happy Friday! Chelsea here.
I thought we'd fully embrace the idea of Flashback Friday today, and take a step back in time, all the way to 1986. In 1986, Columbus was a different place. In July of that year, a sinkhole opened on W Broad St. right in front of the Palace Theatre. Earl Bruce was leading the Buckeyes on a 9-win streak, only to be defeated by Michigan. So many people had mullets. If you're having trouble picturing this version of Columbus, have no fear. This footage shows Columbus and OSU's campus in all its 1986 glory. Don't have time for a video? I've curated some choice screenshots. Enjoy the ride, my friends.

Every Word Of This π
As someone who has seen some appalling audience behavior locally in recent years, all of this is so true. I don't know if it's just a local problem (probably not) or happening everywhere, but Columbus concert audiences could use improvement.

The Goodale Pond Saga Continues π
We might have to build a timeline to reference when we discuss the pond at Goodale Park. Issues with the pond have been ongoing since 2012 and have cost the city well over a half a million dollars in fixes that so far haven't been fruitful. The pond was drained this week in another attempt to fix the fountain, which hasn't been in use since 2017, and work is expected to be finished by spring.
