A Very Intriguing Hyperloop Update πŸš…

The Motherf**cker With The Hat

Sponsored by Short North Stage and their new show The Motherf**ker With The Hat: An edgy trip to the dark side of hilarity, Pulitzer-Prize winning playwright Stephen Adley Guirgis scored another Broadway hit with this outrageous comedy that dare not speak its name. Get your tickets here! πŸŽ©πŸŽ

Happy Friday! Chelsea here.

How is it already the end of January? If this is how fast all of 2020 is going to move, we'd better buckle up. Since it's Friday, I'm electing to slow down a bit and enjoy a good, old-fashioned Flashback Friday moment. Columbus is an interesting place and lots of weird, unique things have happened here throughout the years. From celebrity arrests to Playboy Bunnies to city innovations, we've got an arsenal of fun party facts waiting for you.

Construction on the first major test track for Virgin Hyperloop One could begin as soon as next year if the Central Ohio region is chosen. So far, we've made it through to the second round of considerations. More details on what comes next at the link. Fingers crossed.

I don't know what your weekend plans are, but I certainly hope they involve Columbus Donut Fest. Come up and say hi while you're there!

Do you know how eccentric millionaires always have insane collections of things? Like how Celine Dion has over 10,000 pairs of shoes? I fear that if I ever become an eccentric millionaire, that will be me with houses. I want all of these, but especially that Clintonville craftsman.

Talking Points ❀️

Drunken Ohio 🍺

Did you know per capita beer consumption in Ohio is 26.9 gallons per year? If you've ever wondered how all of these craft beer operations survive, now you know.

Another New Downtown Courthouse πŸ‘©β€βš–οΈ

A new Muni Court building is now planned to break ground in 2022, and is expected to cost $130 million. It will replace the current 40-year-old Municipal Court building that holds the title of busiest court in Ohio, seeing more than one million visitors a year. Dorrian Commons and the Karnes building would be replaced, placing the court on the southeast corner of Mound and South High very close to Common Pleas Courthouse.

This is a portion of what voters will be receiving after voting for the May 2019 bond issue that permitted the city to take on $1 billion in debt for numerous projects.

Lessons for Small Ohio Towns 🚒

How to revitalize smaller Ohio towns that have fallen on hard times is a difficult question, but I found this story of how Marietta is using outdoor recreation really interesting. Every town should attempt an annual festival (like Marietta's

) at the very least I think.

Friday Featured Listing 🏑

1720 Greenway Avenue

There are still great houses under $200k in Columbus, like this cute charmer close to Broad St. and Franklin Park Conservatory. It's freshly remodeled on a corner lot and I'm a huge fan of the marble in the master bath. There's an open house this Sunday from 1-3 and you can also check it out and get more details right here! πŸ‘

The Goat Morning Ritual

I'm feeling this dog's morning ritual "puppuccino" from The Goat. Dogs receiving love from takeout/food truck windows might be my favorite genre of Instagram photo. 🐢❀️
