Happy Friday! Chelsea here.

I know exactly how you should kick off your weekend, friends. Get your friends together and tell them to meet you at The Woodbury, our city's newest diner and one of my new favorite places. From the exceptional service to the affordably priced menu to the amazing food, dining at The Woodbury was a 10/10 experience that I could go on and on about. But since it's the end of the week, I'll just let you get right to it. Just in case you need a little more convincing, I'll leave you with these three, magical words: All. Day. Brunch.

Speaking of new places that you need to try... Forbidden Root came to Columbus out of Chicago and I'm so glad they did. Grab a beer, admire the massive brewpub, hang out, and enjoy yourself. This part of Easton is about to be crazy, so go now before the rush.

What are you doing this weekend? It's going to be 70 degrees on Saturday so I guess we'd better make the best of it. Let's all just pretend like it's totally normal. #climatechangeisreal

Talking Points โค๏ธ

2019 Architecture Awards ๐Ÿ—

This list of AIA Columbus' 2019 architecture awards is a fantastic look at the best of what was built in Columbus in 2019, and I can't argue with any of their award winners. I just can't get over how beautifully made all of the new Columbus library branches are, and the renovated Humane Society still delights me.

Police Chases ๐Ÿšจ

Long-time newsletter subscribers know I keep banging this drum, but central Ohio law enforcement continues maiming and killing pedestrians and innocent bystanders with police chases. Governor Mike DeWine has called for statewide standards,

"

Iโ€™m not advocating or saying there never should be a police chase ... Thatโ€™s not what Iโ€™m saying at all. But what I am saying is these are life and death decisions, and itโ€™s time Ohio had a statewide standard.

"

On Wednesday night, a Gahanna woman, Shannon E. Currier, was killed while in the car with an abusive ex-boyfriend who was fleeing from police in a chase that reached speeds of 90 MPH on two-lane roads in the dark. The man crashed into a tree, killing Currier.

Weather:

58 with showers throughout the day, but heaviest before 1 PM. Windy, with gusts up to 37 MPH. This is ahead of a mid-January Saturday where we may touch 70 degrees. Very normal.
