Columbus Navigator Logo

Ok, so you may be wondering why this list. Maybe Mom loves spending 14 hours in the kitchen and you would never think of eating out.

But here are two scenarios:

- Maybe you don't celebrate Christmas. Very pro click in that situation.

- But even if you do celebrate, let's just say sometimes you have a couple of kids in the backseat, and the drive home from the grandparents needs to involve some food or Christmas might take a turn for the tantrum.

We've been there. We have you covered.

Friday Weather 🌑31 - Mostly cloudy, possible snow showers later. 20% chance of snow. β˜οΈβ„οΈ

Navigator Originals βœοΈHow Much Will Columbus Spend On Christmas This Year?According to data, Columbus residents will spend an average of $898 on holiday shopping. Does that sound in the ballpark?Navigator Weekender: The 15 Best Things To Do This Weekend Including Polar Express Weekend, Das Kaffeehaus Pancake Breakfast, And The German Village Pet ParadeSurprising amount of good stuff happening this weekend with it being so close to the holidays (does it feel like Columbus shuts down a bit for Christmas, events wise?) It's AndyMan-a-thon all weekend at CD102.5, including a pancake breakfast both Saturday and Sunday you should check out, plus lots more.A Star Wars Fan In Ohio Built His Own R2D2- And It’s Totally AwesomeWe have more on this RDD2 that we talked about yesterday, including a video from the creator showing it off. I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around 2.5 years of part time labor to produce this, but I love that there are people like this in the world.

Around Town 🏘Ohio's first medical marijuana cultivation facility will be built in ... Yellow Springs. It is tempting to make a hacky joke here but I will refrain. Ground broke yesterday on a $7 million, 50,000-square-foot state-of-the-art greenhouse halfway between Dayton and Columbus. No Franklin county cultivation sites won licenses - this Yellow Springs facility, or a facility in Springfield would be the closest. [Cincinnati Enquirer]CelebrateOne, a Columbus non-profit, is providing sleep garments called "sleep sacks" to all Franklin County babies born through February 28th. Babies have increased danger of crib death in winter months, when parents sometimes over bundle babies in multiple blankets. CelebrateOne is hoping to help solve the problem with these sacks, which are also very cute. [WOSU]The Ohio Senate passed a bill banning abortions over fetal Down's Syndrome diagnosis. It will now go to John Kasich's desk where he will either sign or veto. As is typical of our state legislature, this is a great deal of grandstanding and fodder for future campaign ads, as it will change nothing. Women do not legally have to give a reason for terminating a pregnancy, and doctors are not legally required to perform a test for Down's Syndrome, or anything at all, before performing an abortion. Picture of the DaySeriously, look at this guy. 2.5 years of labor, but it does look like it could roll onto a movie set tomorrow.
