BrewDog Short North has an official open date 🍺🍺🐕

Welcome to Friday. It's James.
One of the most anticipated openings of the spring now has an official date. BrewDog Short North is opening Saturday, April 14th.
If you're up and at it and feeling ambitious the morning of the 14th, you should head over - the first 100 people through the door will be entered in a raffle for some appropriately epic prizes.
The Short North location looks great, but personally I've been counting the days until the Franklinton location (with the huge rooftop patio) opens. That location still doesn't have an official open date, but it won't be long: BrewDog says it'll be sometime in May.

Friday Weather 🌡51 with a 30% chance of rain. ☔️🌧Weekend will be sunny, but chilly - high of 40 on Saturday (and we might wake up to an inch or two of snow ... again) and 43 on Sunday. 🌤

Around Town 🏘You probably won't be surprised at what city New York Times says is Columbus' twin in this city comparison tool, but some of the other results are also interesting (Columbus but less populated? Bloomington, Illinois.) And you can check other metro areas as well. [New York Times]Feeling an urge for bottomless mimosas? Here's where to go. [614 Mom]If you've driven 71S in recent years, you've probably wondered exactly when the Jeremiah Morrow Bridge would be completed, given it's been under construction for most of the last decade. (Don't recognize the name? It's the giant bridge that stands 200 feet over the Little Miami River.) WVXU was able to go along on a recent inspection of the bridge, and the pictures are amazing, especially if you're into infrastructure (or amazing views, either way). [WVXU]Sports news: Ohio State has extended Urban Meyers contract and it now runs through the 2022 season. [11W] ... The Columbus Blue Jackets have clinched a playoff berth for the second season in a row. This is the first time in franchise history the team has made the playoffs in back to back years. Longread ⏰One of my favorite bits of internet history is the story of John Titor, a self proclaimed time traveler who spent the year 2000 regaling a conspiracy theory message board with tales of the future. It was obviously crazy town, but the internet was still in relatively early days, and so it was a good read, without all of the depressing undertones of all conspiracy discussion today. It's hard to believe lunacy like this was once fun (anyone remember Timecube?)This sort of story has recently made a comeback, but in the lamest 2018 way possible: as a way to cash in via YouTube."They’ve come from the future for two reasons: 1) To save us from ourselves; and 2) to make YouTube confessionals"Mel Magazine: The Rise in Self-Proclaimed Time Travelers
Something to say? Hit reply - we read it all.- James
