When it’s freezing, damp, and Monday morning is hitting hard, joy can feel pretty far away. But I’ve found a way to fix that: pizza. There’s a new spot in town, Side Piece Pies, serving up delicious, NY-style slices right in the University Distric, and yes, it’s the kind of pizza that might just make getting out of bed a little easier. So go ahead, Columbus. Cheat on your usual pizza spot. We won’t tell. 😂

That random burst of snow this morning proved that winter is coming, but don’t worry. Columbus knows how to party. Get ready to dance, sip, and snack at WinterFest Columbus next month along the Scioto Mile.

🎨 Thousands Of Tiny Tiles Make Up This New Italian Village Public Art Installation
Nearly 400,000 tiny glass tiles come together to create one of my new favorite art installations in Columbus. It’s gorgeous, and if you’re looking for a fun thing to check out this week, I can’t recommend it enough.

⚾️ Cleveland Guardians pitchers Emmanuel Clase and Luis Ortiz have been charged with taking bribes from bettors to intentionally throw certain pitches, helping gamblers win in-game prop bets. Ortiz was arrested Sunday, and both face multiple federal charges carrying up to 20 years in prison. (WOSU)

🏥 A postpartum nurse at Ohio State Wexner Medical Center was allegedly strangled by a patient while intervening in an altercation, and the nursing union is demanding accountability after hospital support was delayed. (NBC4)

🧗 Ohio’s only via ferrata climb at Quarry Trails Metro Park offers an adrenaline-packed, guided rock-climbing experience complete with metal rungs, cables, and a suspension bridge. Though the course is now closed for the season, it’s a must-try adventure for thrill-seekers when it reopens in April. (Axios Columbus)
