Happy Saturday! Chelsea here.
🎁 We’re somehow just a few weeks out from Christmas, and not to sound like a broken record, but I’m really not sure how this year flew by so quickly! This time of year, I nearly always find myself a little nostalgic for the holidays of my youth. Maybe that’s because the 90s were the best time to be a kid (or maybe every generation thinks that). And a big part of that 90s Christmas experience in Columbus was a visit to the one and only City Center mall.
Growing up in Columbus, I spent many happy holiday seasons at City Center. From shopping with my great aunt to watching my sister’s choir perform on stage, it was always one of my favorite places to visit during the holidays. This video from the 90s took me right back… I can almost smell the food court from here!

Kick off the holidays with a magical twist on A Christmas Carol! In this fast-paced, 60-minute musical, Ebenezer Scrooge gets a visit from three spirited ghosts who help him rediscover the joy of giving, friendship, and festive fun. Packed with catchy songs, colorful characters, and plenty of holiday cheer, it’s the perfect show for families with kids ages 4–12, and a beloved CCT tradition. Make Mr. Scrooge part of your holiday season! Get your tickets here!

Ready to branch out a little and try something new? Columbus has had some delightful culinary establishments join the food scene recently. If you’ve been waiting for a sign to treat yourself, wait no more!
WinterFest returns to Bicentennial Park on Saturday, December 6, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The city’s favorite cold-weather bash will bring live music, local food trucks, craft brews, cozy cocktails, and all the winter cheer you can handle.
The iconic Umbrella Girl sculpture in Schiller Park was vandalized twice in November, including being set on fire last weekend. But she’ll be back in great shape for Village Lights this weekend.
