Stress Baking, Finding Gratitude, and some Event Updates...

Hey Wednesday and Hello April,

Let me start out by saying that I sincerely hope you and your family are in good mental and physical health amid this global pandemic.Everything that is going on right now had caused a very wide range of emotions for me and I have been spending my time continually learning how to stay grounded in hope and connected to my circle. I am so appreciative of you and our YogaFest fam who have shown me in the past few weeks the good that exists in our community. While I wish I was writing this newsletter to share awesome events coming up and ways we could gather together, this months e-mail will have a little bit of a different spin. I am sharing some things that have helped me fight the anxiety and fear that have the tendency to creep up daily and ways our partners are pivoting their offerings to help keep you grounded. With Gratitude,Leanne

Wanted to share

While staying home and practicing social distancing, life looks pretty different for me. I have spent more time thinking about my actions than I normally would in the hustle of everyday life.

I recently started using the

to stay connected to my friends and family since it has been easy to feel isolated socially while practicing proper distancing. It's given me the comfort of video chatting even if not everyone is on the same schedule.

While at home, I have been feeling more reflective. During a time of crisis it can be easy to let that reflection spiral downward. Taking time to practice gratitude even for the smallest things can have a huge effect on our mental health. I found

to be helpful when practicing gratitude seems difficult.

Have you been

like me? This New York Times article truly made me feel less alone and understood that having something to look forward to is important to my mental health.

"Don’t forget you have the ability to handle stress. You practice this every time you are challenged in your yoga practice. You can handle uncertainty. You have practiced the skills to receive information, to pause, to breathe, to adapt, to flow, to modify, to move forward.... Be patient with yourself and each other. No assumptions. No judgement..."
