Hello, Tuesday! Chelsea, here.
๐ Before we dive in this morning, Iโve got some exciting news. Weโre launching a brand new referral program here at Columbus Navigator. By sharing our newsletter with friends, you can earn rewards and help us to keep growing. Weโre so grateful for each and every one of our subscribers, and we canโt wait to meet your friends. ๐
The Details: You can share your unique link (see below) and once 3 friends sign up, we'll give you a little shout-out here in the newsletter. If you keep referring friends, you can earn cool prizes like a Navigator mug, a tote, and for true Columbus diehards, an original travel poster featuring local metro parks, designed by a local Columbus artist. Sharing the newsletter is the best way to help us keep covering our city (along with supporting our advertisers when you can, and now it comes with perks!)

Youโre at 0 referrals so far. One tap to copy your link, and forwarding this email counts too.
Now, letโs get down to business. One of my favorite things about living in Columbus is that you don't have to go very far to find something completely unexpected. Within a couple of hours, you can wander through a hand-built castle, stand beside ancient earthworks, visit one of the country's quirkiest museums, or spend the day at a safari park. It's one of the best home bases for road trips, and summer is the perfect excuse to finally cross a few places off your Ohio bucket list. We've rounded up some of our favorite destinations, and every one of them is less than three hours from downtown Columbus!

๐ฒ More than 2,800 acres of Ohio's Wayne National Forest could soon be opened to fracking after federal officials announced plans for a September lease sale. โก Ohio's electricity grid fell short of its reliability target for the second year in a row, with officials pointing to soaring energy demand as a major challenge. ๐ฆ This viral TikTok captured a Columbus man (who normally saves cats stuck in trees) rescuing a young bald eagle found injured along the Olentangy River.
